Responsibilities:
  • Through self-directed activities act as a liaison between client and technical groups, using superior communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate requirements.
  • Apply industry-specific expertise to recommend and coordinate the development, enhancement, and maintenance of a client’s business systems, processes, and products using high-maturity methods, processes and tools.
  • Combine industry expertise with a thorough understanding of information technology to develop innovative business solutions. Influence the strategic direction of clients.
  • Lead analysis teams on large projects.
  • Lead requirements management and change management processes. Direct development of visualization, and user experience elements of solution design.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships to manage scope, schedule, budgets and expectations.
  • Lead business studies and present study results to HPE and client senior management. Coordinate and participate in proposals, feasibility studies, and new business development activities.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and client relationships to assess the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment and to identify new business opportunities.
  • Works with Quality Assurance to ensure proper test case coverage; may assist in testing.
  • May give product presentations and data pulls, as required to support application development and roll-out.
  • Interacts with the client and product team to gain an understanding of the business and technological requirements.
  • Analyzes requirements and develops functional specification.
  • Applies metrics to monitor performance.
  • Works with Quality Assurance to ensure proper test case coverage; may assist in testing.
  • Potential to grow into a lead position on the team, whereby having scheduling and leadership skills is desired.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5-7+ years as a Business Analyst in a software development organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills – Must provide written samples of project artifacts and/or al presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling.
  • Must be able to write detailed Functional Specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership experience.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Has a strong technical background.
  • Candidate should be motivated to become a subject matter expert on the software they will support.
  • Experience with human resource systems, benefits or healthcare.
  • Experience working with an external client.
Technology Requirements:
  • UML Use Cases and Activity Diagrams.
  • Compuware, Rational or other requirements software.
  • TOAD.
  • Microsoft Office – Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
  • Strong SQL Plus.
  • Understanding of business process and data flows.
  • Understanding of System Development, or Application Development Life Cycle.
  • Scheduling tool software experience.
  • Project management/portfolio management software experience.
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of related experience or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience. Recommended: IIBA CBAP (or equivalent) certification obtained. Ideally, recognized industry-certification.

Certifications:
  • CBAP Preferred
  • PMP Desired
